The hiatus is over...

Happy New Year!!

Bet you're wondering, "Where the heck have you been?"

Well... making a very long story short... life happened.

I made a decision that 2022, I am reclaiming all those things I neglected and let fall to the wayside. This blog being one of them. I hate that I didn't document all that I've been through personally and entrepreneurially these last few years. The content would have been gold (chef's kiss). So let's catch up. What was I up to the remainder of 2019, 2020, and 2021?

Well... in the end half of 2019, two of my businesses... went through some restructuring. While I was in the mist of pivoting and acclimating myself to these changes... BOOM... COVID happened. When it rains, it pours... am I right or am I right. Any who, that forced me to PIVOT THE PIVOT (deep sigh). All while... wait for it... now needing to be a stay at home mom with my children. When I tell you that 2020 and 2021 was truly a challenge, it's nothing short of an understatement. But I persevered, and here we are. I've successfully kept the doors of all 3 of my businesses open (some more open than others, for another post at another time), I've managed to successfully juggle (insert hand gesture for "so so") everything to allow my children to safely stay at home and attend virtual school, and I even managed to open a fourth business (I'm so excited about it. I can't wait to properly introduce it to you).

While the last couple of years were challenging, a lot of great things came out of it too. As I already mentioned, I opened another business (one step closer to those 7 streams). I joined the Chamber of Commerce (yay!). I made some marketing decisions that I never would have made pre-COVID. I'm so proud of myself and I can't wait to share whatever the results may be with you all. I've gotten to spend so much quality time with my children. We've created so many great memories, partly because I'm just extra (lol) and partly because I had to think outside of the box to allow them to still have fun, but remain safe. I'm grateful for the these past two years, because I've definitely been forged through the fire. I've come out a better parent and better businesswoman. I'm better at thinking outside of the box to solve problems, I now have a pivot mindset (so important in business), and now I know how to forecast and plan ahead better. I think all of these are essential in life in general, not just being an entrepreneur.

I have so many plans for the new year and I can't wait to see what's in store. So let's celebrate! I'm really happy to be back documenting my journey, the struggles, the successes. Please join me on this ride. I hope I motivate those who need, educate those who want it, and entertain those who are lurking (all love).

Until next time, be blessed, less stressed, and think positive!
